Two newly restored
Perigourdine houses, one part 14th century, both available for rent as
family holiday homes.
The property comprises of two fully
equipped houses available together or separately.
These beautifully restored houses (finished,
autumn 1998) are situated in the riverside village of Tourtoirac in the
peaceful countryside of the Dordogne. The village is home to a chateau
and an 11th Century Royal Benedictine Abbey which is thought to have had
connections to the house. Access to the small Auvezere river is 200m from
the house. Relaxing country walks, canoeing, horse riding, and mini-golf
available nearby. Good restaurants, local village market and supermarkets
nearby.
Approximately 30 km north of Montignac,
famous for its pre-historic caves. 30 km west is Perigueux the large regional
capital. The house is 8 km from Excideuil and Hautefort both of which have
magnificent chateaux. The area is full of other historic chateaux, villages
and pre-historic sites.

One bedroom with double bed and cot,
one twin bedded room and one single
bedroom. Bathroom and separate toilet.

South facing terrace, enclosed fenced
garden with furniture and BBQ, overlooking fish pond also fenced (safe
for children).
La Tour
(14th Century) Sleeps 5 + baby
Ground Floor:
Comfortable sitting room with antique
fireplace. Fully equipped modern fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Toilet.
Cloakroom. Laundry with washing machine. Gas central heating.
First Floor:
One large double bedded room with
cot. Bathroom and toilet.
Second Floor:
One large bedroom with double and
single bed, with en suite bathroom and toilet.
Beautiful views over the river and village
towards the abbey.
South West Terrace, enclosed fenced
garden with furniture and BBQ.
Both houses
are available from April to the end of September, and outside these
times by special arrangements.
